Artist's Comments

This was inspired from a project in college we did during a photoshop tutorials class. We were given this teddy bear sitting on a bed that needed color adjusting. It was cute and fuzzy :) came to mind not too long ago during my time painting Green Man after John Howe, Perched, Mushroom Sprites, and Dreamcatcher. I started a painting and put him on a bed with a yellowish wall (I'm very much into yellows right now and may pump out a yellow based painting soon...) but was very unsatisfied with it - as it also covered the whole canvas...so I pitched it and started over! I'm very happy with this one now :).

This is regular acrylic on regular brownish/off colored canvas which serves as a bg (the wall) for the pick. After getting the cute fuzzy bear down, I put a brown down to keep with the earthy tones of the picture, and decided to make that a work tool bench much like my dad had at our old house a couple years ago. I added tools randomly hanging above it and almost did a window but decided against it. I did end up adding some color in the spools just for some pop :).

I am currently looking to use this as an illustration for a writer's book. I can also create a suitable back cover if needed.

I love the fuzziness and wonderful symbology in this painting. Also, your wood graining is beautiful!
